PHPBB comes with a couple board 'themes' by default and you can add themes as a "mod". We've added a couple of themes that we think look a little better than the default 'prosilver'.
Go to the User Control Panel or UCP. Select "Board Preferences" and then "My Board Style".
Subsilver2 comes with PHPBB.
Getaway is a 'Mod' or user added theme we got from PHPBB.com
Redlight we also got from PHPBB.com.
